Meet the Executive Director, Jude White

Jude White first came to Renewal House through a Nashville Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division community outreach committee she initiated to engage members in community service through volunteer projects and as members of nonprofit boards. She joined the Renewal House board in 2000 and served through 2003.

At the time Jude joined the Renewal House board, she was a successful attorney with a private law firm. She found her involvement with the agency so rewarding that she decided to make a career change. In 2001, she joined the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (DCS) so that assisting disadvantaged families would be at the heart of her professional life. In 2004 the agency's founding Executive Director, Kaki Friskics-Warren announced she would be leaving the organization.  With multiple years of board involvement under her belt, Jude knew of the significant impact the agency was having on families healing from addiction.  Her strong passion for the work motivated her to apply for the Executive Director position.  A search committee reviewed and interviewed several applicants and Jude was chosen because of her passion, competence and belief in the mission of Renewal House.

Freda's Story
"I often pray that if I can shed some light on someone else's path, then please Father use me to do so. One day there was a young lady---I don't even know her name---looked at me and said, 'You know, I watch you all the time and I want to be just like you; then she gave me a hug. As I turned to walk away with tears in my eyes, I thought to myself, yeah now that's what I'm talking about!"
